The Page to Olive Connector offers significant local benefits, including:
The Page to Olive Connector will reduce congestion on Creve Coeur Mill Road, a main access to the Howard Bend area. Creve Coeur Mill Road was constructed in the 1920s and is an insufficient thruway for handling traffic moving between Olive Boulevard and points within and beyond the Howard Bend area. Traffic turning left from eastbound Olive Boulevard onto Creve Coeur Mill Road often backs-up, causing further congestion. Traffic will also be reduced on Hog Hollow Road and other entry points into the Howard Bend area. Preliminary analysis indicates that traffic at some locations in the vicinity will be reduced by as much as 50%.
Cut-through traffic will be reduced in nearby residential areas. Through traffic will be reduced in front of two area high schools. Superintendents of two school districts have expressed their support for this project. Constructing the Page to Olive Connector will improve air quality, reduce travel times and reduce accident potential on narrow roads and crowded intersections.
